FED:Govt secures House vote for flood levy
Independent MP ANDREW WILKIE has urged independent Senator NICK XENOPHON to support
the federal government's proposed flood levy .. after announcing his support for the levy
today.
Mr WILKIE says the government has agreed to his proposal on the solar flagships program
and an education program .. that were flagged for budget cuts.
His vote ensures the bill's passage through the House of Representatives.
Mr WILKIE says they need to get on with the rebuilding and is urging Senator XENOPHON
.. who holds the remaining vote the government needs to pass the levy in parliament ..
to get on board.
Mr WILKIE denies his vote had been bought.
