Jean Coutu Group Inc. said its third-quarter profit increased almost sixfold, the biggest gain in at least nine years, partly on a rise in the value of shares it will gain.
Net income climbed to $184 million, or 70 cents a share, in the three months that ended March 3, from $31.6 million, or 12 cents, a year earlier, the Quebec-based firm reported April 17. Revenue rose 10 percent, to $3.17 billion.
