NSW: Snow report for New South Wales
SYDNEY, Aug 19 AAP - The New South Wales snow report:
FORECAST: Rain will develop today, tending to snow later. Strong to gale force gusty
north-westerly winds.
OUTLOOK: Friday: Snow showers and wind moderating, Saturday: Snow showers in the south but
gradually clearing. Sunday: Fine.
CONDITIONS: Excellent snow cover with some windblown snowdrifts.
PERISHER: 25 lifts operating.
SMIGGINS: 12 lifts.
BLUE COW: Eight lifts.
GUTHEGA: Four lifts.
THREDBO: All lifts operating, with plenty of groomed trails from top to bottom.
CHARLOTTE PASS: All lifts operating.
SELWYN: 10 lifts expected to operate today.
CROSS-COUNTRY CONDITIONS: Groomed on August 16, access via fire station.
Learners Loop packed on Sunday with excellent cover; excellent cover on 2.5km, 5km, 7.5km
and 10km loops. Smiggins 2km and 4km loops grromed, good cover on the Wheatley Link and
Porcupine Link. Kosciuszko Road has excellent cover, but the Piper Link is thin in areas.
ROADS: Chains are needed on the Alpine Way between Thredbo Village and Tom Groggin, the
Kosciuszko Road beyond the Park Entrance and the Guthega Road.
